Community Manager

As a community manager, you will monitor real-time conversations in the social media inbox, responding promptly. You will collaborate with the social media team to develop a distinctive strategy for community and engagement-based campaigns while proactively identifying new ambassadors. You will also liaise with the editorial and public relations (PR) teams to refine the community engagement strategy and tone of voice, ensuring alignment with brand initiatives, objectives, and best practices. You will be responsible for the management of the Airtable and Sprout Social accounts.
In this role, you will gain an in-depth understanding of SCAD’s disciplines by engaging in outreach to students and alumni to identify potential highlights for content. You will generate content based on discussions or sentiments shared within the SCAD community, produce monthly tracking reports, and assess potential partners. You will also create daily listening reports and develop a crisis management response strategy to ensure SCAD is accurately represented to stakeholders.
The successful candidate will demonstrate both an analytical and creative background, along with a strong passion for meticulously completing work and providing strategic recommendations based on data. They must exhibit strong communication, organizational, and project management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should approach each assignment with a positive attitude and showcase adaptable writing. Additionally, they should show a willingness to stay informed about relevant community and industry news to educate internal and external audiences. To succeed in this role, individuals must be prepared to travel domestically and internationally on short notice for extended periods.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.A. degree
- Expertise in AP style
- Previous experience managing social media, blogging, publishing, or other forms of digital writing and editing
- Experience with social media scheduling, analytics, and listening tools
- Experience executing on-time creative work and event-based content across multiple formats
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Valid driver’s license
Travel required:
- 10–20%
Work Hours:
The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
