Since 1999, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC has been Pittsburgh's premier professional soccer team. They compete in the United Soccer League, one of North America's largest and fastest-growing pro soccer organizations. We are seeking an energetic, outgoing, and motivated individual to bring AMO, our team mascot, to life during the season. As the Backup Mascot Performer, you'll engage fans at community events and team and sponsor appearances. Ideal candidates possess strong nonverbal communication skills, a solid work ethic, and the ability to create an exciting, positive atmosphere for fans. The backup mascot performer will also be working as a part of the Hounds Hype Squad.

This role requires a can-do attitude and reports directly to the Director of Promotions and Entertainment within the Riverhounds Marketing team.

Show Us You Can:

  • Maintain the character and personality of AMO at all times during events.
  • Engage with fans to create an exciting and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Accept training, coaching, and assessment to perform as AMO.
  • Assist in planning, developing, and executing mascot skits and performances in collaboration with marketing, sponsorship, and operations teams.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to fans, partners, and community members.
  • Attend all scheduled events, both at the stadium and off-site, to represent the Riverhounds.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, upholding a professional and positive image.
  • Work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

We are looking for:

  • High energy, strong work ethic, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to work in outdoor conditions and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to perform comfortably under pressure and in front of large crowds. Previous mascot experience is a plus but not required.
