Job Description
Company: Lighting Diversions Systems (LDS) located in Huntington Beach, CA is a global leader in the design, development and production of segmented lightning diverter strips and innovative lightning protection devices for aerospace, defense and wind turbine markets. LDS is under the Engineered Products umbrella of Ducommun Incorporated.
Founded in 1849, Ducommun is the oldest company in California and is currently celebrating its 175th anniversary. Evolving from a hardware supply store opened by Charles Ducommun in Los Angeles during the California Gold Rush, the company assisted in the birth of the aerospace industry in Southern California by providing aircraft aluminum to early aerospace pioneers like Lindbergh, Douglas and Lockheed. Position Information
- The business development manager will be responsible for sales revenue growth, seeking out and capturing new business opportunities.
- Identification of new business opportunities and development of winning proposals.
- Management of key customers to secure new business.
- Development of alliances and relationships with customers, industry professionals, and associated organizations designed to produce sales opportunities.
- Development of key markets and market opportunities.
- Identification and support of key trade shows.
- Development of tools and programs that enable and expand customer development activities.
- Understanding of the competitive landscape and competitor strategies.
- Evaluates trends and determines must-win campaigns and strategies.
- Perform research and market analysis.

Education and Qualifications
- 7-10 years of demonstrated results in sales and marketing with proven customer relation skills, managing customers as partners and A&D experience preferred.
- Must have sales experience in aerospace, defense, wind turbine, or electronics industry.
- Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, preferably in electrical engineering; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
- Background in lightning protection/HIRF a plus.
Physical Demands
- Ability to travel to customers, manufacturing sites, and trade shows (60-75%).
