Senior Buyer

The Sr. Buyer will be responsible for purchasing parts, materials, and fabrications for custom automated equipment. These components may vary from small off the shelf components to large scale custom fabrications. The Buyer will coordinate with the Engineering, Production, Project Management, and Finance teams to deliver an integrated and functional solution.
Responsibilities
· Sourcing, buying, and expediting orders with outside vendors and the internal machine shop
· Facilitate the manufacturing of custom fabrications through various manufacturing processes and vendors
· Negotiation of pricing, credit terms, discounts, and delivery arrangements
· Evaluation and selection of new vendors
· Coordination of purchases and invoices with the Accounting Team
· Creation of purchase orders and internal process schedules to facilitate orders
· Execute returns and related bookkeeping as needed
· Coordination with cross-functional team members and stakeholders to ensure project schedules, requirements, and costs are met
· Prepare and deliver purchasing reports
· Coordinate and facilitate shipping and incoming freight when required
· Assist with coordinating vendors and/or contractors for facility upkeep
· Update lead times and communicate delays to project stakeholders
· Monitor and re-fill stock levels
Minimum Required Experience
· Experience purchasing custom fabrications (ex. Weldments, machine parts, etc) and off-the-shelf components
· Experienced with ordering raw materials for custom fabrications
· Experienced with Manufacturing processes and post-fabrication processes (ex. Anodization, painting, plating, etc.)
· Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent note keeping and organization skills
· Experience interfacing and managing vendors
· Experience negotiating prices and terms with vendors
· 5+ years as a buyer or equivalent role
· 2+ years as a buyer procuring fabricated items
· High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience
· Proficiency in using and understanding ERP systems
· Experience evaluating and selecting vendors.
· Bachelor's degree in business or similar field
