At the Vancouver Housing Authority (VHA) we work closely with local governments and other community partners throughout Clark County to address issues of affordable housing and homelessness and help families break the cycle of poverty. As an integral part of the team, the Office Coordinator ensures the smooth operation of administrative functions, provides critical support to leadership, and fosters a welcoming environment for staff, residents, and partners. This position requires handling sensitive information with discretion, coordinating schedules and communications, and supporting the activities of the Board of Commissioners. The Office Coordinator actively contributes to a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and excellence.
Your skills and experience will support our mission as you:
- Be the go-to person for smooth office operations, coordinating everything from meetings to mail distribution.
- Support our Board of Commissioners and stakeholders by preparing agendas, transcribing minutes, facilitating meetings and disseminating communications ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
- Manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain well-organized digital and paper files.
- Act as a liaison for resident inquiries, ensuring respectful and solution-focused communication.
- Oversee special projects like event planning and administrative mail merges.
- Handle travel arrangements and coordinate scheduling of meetings, events, and appointments for leadership.
- Provide notary services.
Pay and Benefits
- The starting salary pay range is $25 - $27.50 per hour based on experience. In compliance with the Equal Pay & Opportunities Act, the full salary range is $25 - $35 per hour.
- Full-time, non-exempt, position working in-person/onsite 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or certifications in office management or related fields preferred).
- Proven experience in administrative or office support roles, ideally within a nonprofit, government, or community-focused organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Certification as a Notary Public (or willingness to obtain).
- Familiarity with culturally responsive practices and a commitment to equality and inclusion in the workplace.
