Job Summary: Arkansas Support Coordinator is seeking a Transition Coordinator to join our Vocational Services Department! As a Transition Coordinator, you will work alongside our Vocational Services Manager to develop and implement a program designed to support youth ages 16 to 21 in preparing for life after high school. In this role, you will collaborate with various professionals to help individuals develop essential skills such as work readiness, self-advocacy, job exploration, post-secondary education, and independent living.

- Evaluating various curricula encompassing self-advocacy, job exploration, post-secondary education, and independent living skills for youth with disabilities, and working with the Vocational Services Manager to determine which curriculum shows the most promise for transition-age youth.
- Collaborating with the Vocational Services Manager to develop recruitment strategies for youth participating in the selected curriculum, and providing information about the transition program to schools, parents, and potential participants.
- Working with teachers of youth with disabilities to focus on Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and transition plans and supporting students in achieving these goals outside the classroom.
- Coordinating program activities with staff from SWEP and other Transition Programs.
- Identifying potential community sites for implementing the transition program and promoting it to organizations and individuals at these sites. Establishing necessary partnerships with these individuals and organizations for successful program implementation.
- Collaborating with the Vocational Services Manager, ARS, and schools to develop a data collection method to track program participation, including documenting the length and duration of participation, success with curricula, and activities conducted in various community settings.
- Driving program participants to community sites using the Arkansas Supports Network bus.
- Evaluating the outcomes and satisfaction of the transition program for youth and their families and reporting these results to community partners. Modifying the program based on evaluation feedback.
- Functioning as part of the Vocational Services team by attending all staff meetings and training sessions.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Relevant experience working with special education students or individuals with disabilities.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
