Brief Description
Performs a variety of complex support tasks for judges, managers, and supervisors, including preparation, processing, and reconciling documents and records, researching and resolving problems, balancing and monitoring accounts, and interacting effectively with the public. May act as a team lead under a manager or supervisor, relying on experience and judgment to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.
Detailed Description
Acts as a subject matter expert and team leader, providing guidance and training to staff. Responsibilities include developing policies and procedures, coordinating tasks, updating policies, and preparing training materials. Prepares correspondence, completes forms, and serves as a liaison to other departments and the public. Collects, inputs, and reconciles data, funds, or inventories and prepares reports.
Utilizes computer systems for data input, retrieval, purchasing, and inventory management. May provide routine computer support, including training clerical staff and resolving routine problems. Assists in employee-related issues such as interviewing, time and attendance data, payroll reconciliation, and training.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program. Four years of work-related experience, 60 hours of college credit, or a combination. Ability to type 35 wpm or 70 kspm, knowledge of computer applications, and standard word processing software. Ability to follow instructions, organize work, and maintain effective working relationships. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
Additional Details
Candidates for clerical, administrative, and secretarial positions must pass skills tests determined by the Elected Official or Department Head. Tests may include 10-key, data entry, grammar, MS Office skills, and timed typing. An extensive pre-employment background investigation will be conducted.
