Job Description

Job Skills / Requirements

  • Assist in Corporate Strategy Development and Implementation
  • As a partner to the CEO, COO and divisional managers, the CONTROLLER will assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and company’s long-term strategy.
  • The CONTROLLER will be expected to develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and COO, and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
  • The CONTROLLER will assist in establishing yearly objectives and meeting agendas, and selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors, investment advisors).
  • The CONTROLLER will implement and oversee collaborative annual budgeting, planning and costs management initiatives under the direction of the CEO.
  • Conduct Financial Planning and Analysis
  • The CONTROLLER will oversee the preparation of regular weekly and monthly profit and loss reports by division (vs. budget) and a rolling weekly 13-week cash flow forecast.
  • Monthly, the CONTROLLER will complete an analytical report of the Company’s financial results financial results for the CEO and Advisory Board, including strategic and tactical recommendations.
    • Pricing adjustments
    • Line-of-Credit usage or pay down
    • Recommendations to keep cash flow positive
    • Discussion of anomalies or trends in Company performance
  • In collaboration with other managers and directors of the Company, the CONTROLLER will produce and maintain both the annual operating and annual capital budgets.
  • At the request of other managers and directors, and with the approval of the CEO, the CONTROLLER will assist in development of financial planning and analysis reports.
  • Manage Accounting Activities
The CONTROLLER Will:

  • Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function; supervise company finance staff.
  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of weekly, monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Develop and deliver month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements.
  • Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation.
  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems.
  • Serve as final point of escalation for Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable issues.
  • Develop and manage the Finance and Accounting staff.
  • Mentor and develop direct reporting team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of a dynamic and effective team.
  • Guide larger, cross-divisional teams outside of direct span of control within the company, at the request of the CEO.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits.
  • Oversee weekly cash management, including approving weekly payables and executing check signing.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable management and provide support to collections activities.
  • Manage the Company’s property, casualty, and liability insurance programs.
  • Financial Oversight

The CONTROLLER Will:

  • Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
  • Oversee cash, investment, and asset management.
  • Oversee financing strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships.
  • Remain up to date on audit best practices and state and federal law regarding accounting for operations.

SCHEDULE:

1st Shift Monday-Friday

Shift times may vary to fit business needs

40+ hours/ week (Full-Time)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be of good moral character, with no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for criminal or sexual conduct of related offenses, theft, assault, or crimes of moral turpitude, is required.
  • Must present a friendly, positive, professional image to clients, employees, supervisors, managers, and the general public.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, ability to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner. These include the ability to read and write the English language and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions and reports.
  • Must have mastery in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
