Primary Purpose:
The Civil Project Manager shall possess the skills to work independently on small and medium sized civil engineering only projects as well as with other discipline leads to produce multi-discipline Construction Documents with minimal oversight. Additionally, it would be expected that the Project Manager would communicate their project needs with their Team Leader to obtain necessary resources to complete the work on time. Main clients are the Veterans Administration, USACE, DoD, Indianapolis DPW, and private healthcare clients. Project types will include building renovation/expansions, new multi-story buildings, parking garages, healthcare, higher education, and municipal projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from accredited institution
- Professional Engineering License
- 8+ years relevant experience in Civil/Site Engineering
- Extensive knowledge of Civil 3D
Project Management Responsibilities:
- Ensure all project needs are met.

- Create, communicate, implement, and manage design solutions

- Write proposals and establish project budgets and manage staff to meet these budgets.
- Manage invoices and revenue recognition
- Develop, maintain and meet project schedules and deliverables
- Work with Team Leader to assign tasks to staff and coordinate resource needs.
- Assist with quality control and risk management
- Maintain a technical expertise in your profession and area of work to include new products, software and tools that will assist you in better meeting our client’s needs
- Be willing to put in the effort to meet schedules and deadlines
- Assist in selection of sub-consultants
- Familiarity and experience working with applicable codes, rules and/or AHJs.
- Participate in the sales and marketing of Guidon’s services to existing and new clients
- Look for opportunities to add to and upsell Guidon services with our clients
Project Engineer Responsibilities:
- Conceptually working to develop new construction and/or renovation designs.
- Direct EIT designers working on an assigned project.
- Attend client meetings and design review meetings.
- Develop construction documents and design details.
- On-site construction administration and site inspection visits to assess the quality of the work.
- Coordination within a multi-disciplinary project team.
Requirements:
- Strong experience preparing construction documents using discipline specific software (Civil 3D, ICPR, and other Hydraulic modeling software).
- Extensive experience working within professional services firm
- Ability to mentor, provide guidance and be a technical educator for staff
- Broad understanding and experience with design and office related computer software and operating systems. Software proficiency related to discipline required
- Comfortable with designing and overseeing a broad range of project types
- Proactive and assertive in problem solving
- Experience managing parallel assignments
- Good written, oral communications, staff management and client relationship skills
- Comfortable in making group presentations
- Act as a leader to project team
- Support teammates and act as a mentor and educator where needed
- Create, communicate, implement, and manage design solutions
