Essential Functions

• Oversees personnel engaged in processing, decontaminating, sterilizing and delivering a wide variety of patient care items and surgical instruments according to established policies and procedures.
• Coordinates, develops and maintains functions of Central Sterile with all user departments.
• Maintains proper storage and adequate inventory of designated surgical instrumentation.
• Monitors equipment distribution and maintain accurate records.
• Inspects area daily and take corrective action when situation does not meet standards or requirements.
• Ensures maintenance of established quality assurance program standards by performing item sterilization tests, interpreting data and graphs and verifying correct operation of sterilizers.
• Oversees and assist with decontamination and sterilization of reusable equipment returned from user departments.
• Ensures that department policies are reviewed annually and updated at least every three years or as necessary.
• Reviews sterilization records for accuracy and completeness.
• Identifies issues and initiates process changes in collaboration with the OR Manager.
• Project management or project/renovation work experience will also be helpful.
  
  

Qualifications And Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Associate's degree- Preferred
