The Adult Outpatient Program (AOP) is a program of many dedicated and skilled clinicians, from all experience levels and walks of life, who serve adult clients (primarily ages 21 to 59) seeking services to address a wide variety of mental health concerns. Our program values the individual perspectives of each clinician and strives to develop a multifaceted and well-rounded team of diverse personal and professional experiences and skillsets.

As part of the Adult Outpatient team, the Adult Outpatient Clinician will work within a team of skilled clinicians to meet the needs of all adults, treating a wide range of presenting issues and concerns. Clinicians are afforded the opportunity to work autonomously to provide sound clinical care, while also having the opportunity to consult with and make connections within the team and beyond. While a master’s degree is required for this position, both licensed and pre-licensed candidates interested in sharpening and growing their clinical skills are welcome and encouraged to apply.

This position is currently hybrid, spending at least half-time in-office to provide in-person services based on the needs of the Center and our clients. Other days are spent working from home providing telehealth via Zoom. This is subject to change due to COVID19 circumstances. Work equipment provided.

Essential Duties

  • Provides individual and group treatment promoting change and movement through the therapeutic system, following recovery-based practice guidelines. Engages clients, as well as family members and significant others as appropriate, in strengths-based and trauma-informed therapy. Participates in goal setting to reach agreed upon outcomes.
  • Completes intakes, assessments, and other initial engagement strategies as needed based upon the needs of the team.
  • Participates in Evidence Based Practices (including CBT, DBT, and other trauma treatments) as well as other agency initiatives (such as PCOMS, a modality used to evaluate progress in therapy). Participates in the Adult DBT program by facilitating individual and/or group therapy (certified DBT training is provided).
  • Meets client-facing time guidelines through effective caseload management responsive to the level of ongoing clinical need.
  • Coordinates care with internal and external providers. Maintains appropriate professional standards and provides appropriate follow-up for consumers.
  • Performs regular risk assessments and identifies risk factors including lethality. Ensures that delivery practices are guided by the principles of trauma informed care.
  • Participates in regular supervision by coming prepared with an agenda. Reports high risk or complex situations, utilizes a problem-solving approach, and elicits feedback. Attends supervision at times and interval agreed upon with supervisor, as well as mandatory in-services and professional development activities.
  • Meets deadlines for submission of paperwork and notes (including submitting 90% of notes within 3 working days and 95% of paperwork by due date).
  • Exhibits enthusiasm, courtesy, adaptability, flexibility, and spirit of cooperation in the work environment.
  • Maintains effective interpersonal relations with consumers, peers, subordinates, upper management, visitors, and the general public. Uses language and behavior to promote dignity and respect.
  • Effectively responds to the client/consumer needs and problems, initiates, and maintains positive interactions, timely response to phone calls, emails, and other requests.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to develop therapeutic alliance and work effectively with consumers from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrates cultural humility. Addresses the whole health needs of the client.
  • Utilizes a range of appropriate clinical and recovery focused interventions to treat individuals with varied diagnoses according to clinical need, or refers as indicated, to trauma specific treatment, wellness classes/coaching, co-occurring/substance use services, and employment services.
  • Understands trauma-informed care and minimizes possibility of re-traumatization by ensuring every interaction is consistent with a trauma-informed perspective. Participates in training programs to enhance knowledge of trauma informed care and ensure that these principles guide one’s practice.

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • A conferred master’s degree from an accredited university/college in related field, required.
    • Applicants must have licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LP) or be eligible for licensure (LPCC, SWC/LSW) in the state of Colorado. Licensure is preferred but not required to apply.
  • One or more years related experience and/or training; counseling experience preferred.
  • Experience with co-occurring issues and bilingual proficiency are desired, but not required.
  • Skills or experience in integrated health approaches preferred.
Salary Grade 51 - Master’s Unlicensed Clinician $57,000 - $64,000*

Salary Grade 52 - Licensed Clinician LCSW, LMFT, LPC $70,000 – $77,200*

Additional Salary Information*:

  • The salary range above is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.
