KNBN has an immediate opening for a full-time Broadcast Director. NewsCenter1/KNBN-TV is part of Forum Communications Company, a family-owned and -operated company based in Fargo, North Dakota. NewsCenter1 produces over 16 hours of local news, weather, and sports content each week as we continue to grow.
Rapid City is a growing city located in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, with scenic Mount Rushmore less than 30 minutes from downtown Rapid City. Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park are also close by attractions, each with some of the largest free-ranging herds of bison in the nation. The nearby Black Hills National Forest offers numerous hiking and ATV opportunities, and Badlands National Park is a short 60 minute drive. In the winter, there are skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing opportunities as well.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Directing Newscasts
- Ability to operate all studio control equipment for live newscasts
- Handle the ingest of commercials from Traffic and Sales
- Ingest local programming and send to the home office
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be reliable, able to work unsupervised, and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have access to consistent transportation to meet required shifts.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to operate audio board using two upper extremities at the same time.
- Background in audio or graphic editing preferred.
Expected compensation for this role is between $21 and $23/hour, based on qualifications and experience.
