Our Finance Team is looking for an experienced Material Estimator to join our team. In this role the Material Estimator will coordinate with key stakeholders to create costed bills of material cost database Material Requirement Planning (MRP) System for inclusion in deliverable GDLS proposals.

About The Role

Our Finance Team in Sterling Heights, MI is looking for an experienced Material Estimator to join our team. In this role the Material Estimator will coordinate with key stakeholders to create costed bills of material from GDLS' historical material cost database Material Requirement Planning (MRP) System for inclusion in deliverable GDLS proposals. In compliance with Federal and Defense Acquisition Regulations (FARs/DARs) and GDLS business unit and corporate guidelines.

Responsibilities To Anticipate For This Role

  • Data retrieval from Oracle ERP, Cognos or ProPricer (Estimating Software) and analyzing data via Excel.
  • Attend cross functional meetings with Program Office, Contracts and Engineering and understand scope of work for proposals.
  • Data loading to an indentured estimating system.
  • Electronic extraction of end product bills of material from Oracle MRP system and costing of bills of material.
  • Preparation and presentation of supporting material cost estimate methodology.

Qualifications Sought

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Material Management. Other degrees will be considered with relevant experience.
  • 3 to 5 years in a related role.
  • Ability to use Oracle system & associated ERP systems.
  • Strong communication (oral & written) and organization skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Work in a team environment to meet team objectives and performance metrics.
  • Perform under pressure to meet deadlines, provide timely updates, and communicate status with all parties involved.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Software applications (Excel advanced), including ability to work with large datasets and manipulate them with excel.
  • Structured BOM experience or understanding of indentured BOMs

Additional Information

  • This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
  • The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work overtime when required
  • Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position.
