Accounts Receivable Clerk

Salary: $28.50 to $33.00 hourly

Description

We are offering a contract for a permanent position as an Accounts Receivable Clerk based in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, United States. This role involves maintaining customer service standards, handling collections, and being highly proficient in Excel. The role is analytical and transactional in nature, requiring a detail-oriented individual.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain customer accounts, ensuring they are up to date and accurate.
• Handle customer inquiries, providing high-quality customer service.
• Carry out collections activities, following up on overdue payments.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze data and create reports.
• Utilize AS400 system for various tasks related to accounts receivable.
• Oversee the processing of customer credit applications.
• Identify and resolve any discrepancies in customer accounts.
• Ensure all transactions are conducted with a high degree of accuracy.
• Maintain a thorough, organized system for account records.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in an Accounts Receivable Clerk role or a similar role in accounting.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with other Office applications.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.
• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
• Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
• Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (JDE or other full-scale ER software).
• Proficiency in English and in Office applications.
• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
