What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy for a designated customer base that will assist in achieving the overall sales goals while improving the netbacks and profitability of those customers.
  • Responsible for yearly sales plan development and monthly forecasting adjustments for key customer accounts.
  • Compile and communicate up-to-date competitive market environment data relative to the customer industry and environment.
  • Act as liaison between customers and finance/credit department to ensure orders are given proper credit approval and are released for shipment, facilitate new customer setup, and help collect overdue invoices.
  • Establish relationships, collaborate, and maintain thorough communication with other Nutrien stakeholders to support sales and service for the customer base while aligning with company strategies (i.e., commercial/marketing, customer experience, and transportation).
  • Development/administrate contractual sales agreements and monitoring of shipping performance against contracts
  • Investigate and address customer complaints and/or concerns.
  • Focus on growing the business in the region, territory, or market segment.
  • Strategically analyze market trends to identify new sales opportunities and potential risks for both long term and short term planning.
  • Regular travel for customer visits, tradeshows and conferences, and internal meetings.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, marketing, or related field required.
  • 6+ years of experience in sales, product administration, customer experience, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet sales goals and targets with critical thinking and reporting capabilities.
  • Awareness of industry standards related to handling, storage, and use of industrial or fertilizer products.
  • Highly developed customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and sustain excellent customer relationships.
  • Motivated self-starter with results and solution orientation and the ability to sustain a professional growth plan while working independently.
  • Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Office components Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Excellent understanding of internal operating systems (SAP, MSS, HANA) to extract data into valuable/reliable reports.
  • Clear understanding of the industry landscape.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Thorough negotiation skills with the ability to navigate challenging discussions.
  • Demonstrated track record of margin optimization through continuous improvement initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits

$90,400 - $124,300. This range is estimated for Regional Sales Manager

We provide an attractive benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, and life insurance and well as disability coverage for positions working more than 30 hours per week. In addition, we have a retirement program that encourages our employees to save for the longer term, with generous matching employer contributions.  Our benefit package also demonstrates our culture of care with paid vacation, sick days and holidays as well as paid personal and maternity/parental leaves and an Employee and Family Assistance Program.  Details of the benefits package will be shared in the application process.  

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, discretionary, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
