We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team as a Hybrid employee in our Franklin, TN office area or as a Remote employee. As a QA Engineer, you will be part of the QE discipline and working closely with the QE Director, product owners, development managers, and developers. You’ll have a critical role in building formalized test plans for our key products, determining how tests are executed, and planning and executing testing as a normal part of the development lifecycle. As well, you will ensure our products meet the established standards of quality, including reliability, usability, and performance. Potential benchmarks include tracking and reducing post-release bugs and post-release-related support calls or tickets. The ability to effectively communicate with programmers and maintain the end user in mind is essential.

Responsibilities Include

  • Perform manual testing for web, mobile, IBM i, and/or windows based applications
  • Write manual test cases and document testing processes
  • Create automated tests using Robot, Postman, and other testing tools
  • Identify, report, and manage defects, and work as an informational resource that provides constant and timely feedback to the scrum team assigned.
  • Assist QE Director and Product Owners to identify opportunities for improvement from customer needs.
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Maintain relevant knowledge about new testing tools and test strategies
  • Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Work as an integrated member of a scrum team and participate in all agile ceremonies
  • Other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of quality assurance experience
  • 1+ years of automation (functional UI, unit, and/or integration testing) experience
  • Extensive experience creating tests using Robot, Postman, and other testing tools
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with Cypress or similar testing tools is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Significant experience of working in software development teams and using software QA methodologies and tools
  • Strong understanding of basic technologies (Internet, MS Office and Windows OS).
  • Familiar and comfortable working with integration, performance, and security testing tools.
  • ISTQB foundation-level certification is preferred.
  • General knowledge of and/or interest in programming and development is a plus.
  • Experience working within an Agile environment and with Agile Management tools such as JIRA.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; ability to understand and communicate with a wide range of individuals (technical and non-technical).
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and ability to find value in coaching.
  • Ability to analyze problems and quickly learn our system.
