Who We’re Looking For
Gaudenzia is looking for a dynamic individual with proven HR experience to join our team located in Glen Burnie, MD. As the HR Business Partner for the Chesapeake Region, one of the largest business segment of our agency, you will support an hourly and salaried workforce of roughly 300 employees across multiple sites within Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia. You will balance the operational priorities of a fast paced work environment with a strategic business focus, bringing insight, an independent viewpoint and HR expertise to business issues. You will consult with and influence business leaders to take actions on emerging people related topics; and leverage the full value of working closely with a talented and progressive team of HR professionals to derive relevant HR solutions to meet the evolving needs of the business. In addition, you will play a key role in orchestrating and facilitating changes to organizational culture, design, and structure. You will report to the VP of Human Resources for the organization.

Your responsibilities in this role may include
- Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Develops contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
- Provides guidance and input on restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Identifies training needs for leaders.
- Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
- Advise management on hiring and terminations
- Partner with hiring managers to manage talent acquisition needs.
- Promote diversity awareness in hiring practices.
- Manage HRIS on the day-to-day basis.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
