About The Role
In this hands-on role, the Creative Director will fulfill four primary functions:
- Leadership of client brands and creative project workstreams: Actively contribute to and present deliverables, both large and small, as we develop new and maintain existing client brands that build reputation and momentum
- Consultation and partnership with clients: Leverage experience, personality and ideas to be a trusted thought-partner and valued team member to senior-level clients
- Stewardship of the Waterhouse brand: Continually strengthen the Waterhouse Brands visual and verbal identities to inspire, engage, demonstrate leadership and drive loyalty
- Vision and inspiration: Demonstrate a gravitas that unites the internal Waterhouse team around opportunity and what can be in order to continually push work forward
- Working with the Waterhouse and client teams to produce new ideas for branding, promotional campaigns, and corporate and employer brand communications
- Conceiving and implementing concepts and activations
- Ensuring designs and content consistently and positively reflect the brand image and company ideals—from concept to omni-channel execution
- Flexing into hands-on projects; days may be a mix of big picture thinking and in-the-weeds edits and quick-turn creative iterations
- Presenting to clients and “owning” the room
- Leading brainstorming and creative sessions to generate ideas
- Improving results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes and recommending changes to art, copy and production teams
- Owning the responsibility of the quality and timely completion of all work projects assigned to members of the creative team
- Directing and motivating teams of art directors, illustrators, copywriters, etc. to help them utilize their talents efficiently and effectively
- Mentoring and encouraging creative team members to foster a positive work environment
- Participating in new business efforts, including: creative ideation, concept and presentation development, consulting and pitching
- You demonstrate enthusiasm for both personal and agency growth; have a hunger for development
- You bring a command of design, copy and web practices
- You can articulate a clear POV on current trends in advertising and design
- You are knowledgeable of how to develop brand identities and build reputation
- You are comfortable interacting with high-profile clients and industry professionals
- You bring influential leadership skills; respecting and incorporating the needs of stakeholders
- You demonstrate proactive communication habits and a high level of organization
- You are highly motivated with the ability to work independently with a stellar work ethic
- You succeed in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing time and resources based on the needs of the business
- A minimum of 8 years of related experience in an agency setting; at least 5 of which in the life sciences industry
- A proven and recent track record of client partnership and ability to sell in big ideas
- Demonstrated track record/portfolio of developing and executing impactful digital, print, and interactive campaigns and activations
- Proficiency in relevant tools for design (Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, etc) or copy (Microsoft Office, Adobe platforms, Google apps, etc) as well as AI
- Prior experience managing staff is required
