The Documentation Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all technical documentation is clear, accurate, and compliant with internal standards and industry regulations
Creates, writes, and maintains comprehensive technical documents, including SOPs, work instructions, process guidelines, Mastercard’s, manuals, and other critical documents that align with operational and quality standards
Leads the development, updating, and ongoing maintenance of MasterCard’s to ensure accuracy and consistency across all manufacturing and engineering processes, reflecting current operational requirements and changes for Extrusion, Molding and PA&F
Leads the development and documentation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring proper recording and traceability of all changes, including managing process and product deviations
Ensures changes are well-documented, communicated, and aligned with internal processes
Spearheads change management processes, ensuring all changes (engineering, process, or product-related) are properly documented, approved, and integrated into manufacturing workflows
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions during change implementations
Works closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure that technical documents reflect the latest process, compliance, and regulatory standards
Serves as a liaison between teams to gather the necessary technical information and converts it into clear, actionable documentation
Ensures strict document control practices are followed, with appropriate versioning, access, and security
Maintains an organized and up-to-date repository for all technical documentation
Assists in training team members on newly developed documents and process updates
Ensures employees are aware of changes and know how to access and apply the latest documentation
Supports internal audits and continuous improvement efforts related to documentation, ensuring all materials comply with internal and external standards
Maintains all technical documents in accordance with document control procedures, ensuring proper versioning, access control, and security
Ensures all documentation is organized, up-to-date, and compliant with internal standards and industry regulations

Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven experience in technical writing, particularly in manufacturing or engineering environments
Strong expertise in creating, managing, and maintaining technical documentation, including MasterCard’s and engineering change documentation
In-depth understanding of document management systems and change management processes
Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and accessible documentation
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of document creation and maintenance
Knowledge of industry standards, quality management systems, and regulatory requirements related to technical documentation
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience in leading cross-functional teams
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of the organization
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree preferred
Technical Writing Certification preferred
Five (5) plus years technical writing experience
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Exposure to machine noise
Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production area
Working conditions are normal for a high-volume manufacturing environment
Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds and working in and around heavy equipment
Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and work boots
This role may require walking in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
