Post-Doctoral Associate in Discontinuous Galerkin Methods

Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in mathematics or its equivalent no earlier than January 1, 2024 and no later than August 26, 2025.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the implementation and/or analysis of DG and HDG methods is a must.
- Familiarity with the convolution technique for accuracy enhancing of finite element methods is highly regarded.
- Some knowledge of negative-order norms for the analysis of the resulting post-processing is most welcome but not necessary.
A postdoctoral position under the direction of Professor Bernardo Cockburn is available at the University of Minnesota to participate in the development and analysis post-processing techniques of discontinuous Galerkin methods for convection-dominated flows. This position is supported by the ACCESS grant and involves collaboration with aerospace Engineers at the University of Minnesota.
Responsibilities:
(95%) Research:
- Conduct high quality research and disseminate the results through publications and invited talks and conferences.
- Participate in the research mission of the department, especially through interaction with faculty and students.
- Participate in and organize research seminars.
(5%) Training, Outreach and Service:
- Continue personal growth within the profession, keep current with the field, and broaden knowledge and expertise.
