This office also is responsible for implementing all purchases for the department in accordance with state and federal laws and rules, thus assuring that goods and services are procured at the best value for the state.”
Serving approximately 3 million students, 4,400 public schools, 28 colleges, 200,000 instructional staff, 46,000 college professors and administrators, and 340,000 full-time staff throughout the state, FDOE enhances programs and services for Florida’s students from early learning through college and career development. In addition, FDOE manages programs that assist individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or disabled succeed either in school settings or careers - encouraging independence and self-sufficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities
This is a responsible, professional position requiring administrative, operational and financial knowledge of the Department. Ensures efficiency, productivity, and that deadlines are met. Demonstrates strong interpersonal and organizational skills and maintains confidentiality at all times.
The employee must provide timely and satisfactory customer service to internal and external customers.
The incumbent will review and approve contracts, contract documents and attachments for compliance with Federal, State and Department requirements. Assists in the maintenance of a comprehensive contract tracking system. Prepares and distributes executed contracts.
Participates in the development of contract performance measures guidelines, contract monitoring processes and forms. As needed, conducts contract management monitoring of contract managers’ files. The person in this position is responsible for compiling and analyzing statistical data and preparing written research reports and for making recommendations to Department management regarding contract administration issues.
Responsible for the utilization of established contract management systems as applicable, and MyFloridaMarketPlace e-Procurement system and loading of eligible contracts into the applicable system including attaching electronic files and scanning necessary documentation to create electronic documents for attaching in the applicable system.
Assists in the development of the Department’s contract manager training manual and conducting contract manager training.
Coordinates and consults with Budget and Program offices as appropriate regarding contract issues to determine areas of concern and possible solutions to problems with contract development for the department and system wide or school wide procurements for all school districts within Florida, including buses, student testing and evaluation.
Independently researches, prepares, reviews, and edits correspondence.
As needed, the incumbent will also provide procurement review and approval of MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) requisitions and eQuotes consistent with Law, Rule, policy and procedure. Provide assistance with the development of original specifications and the revising of existing specifications for goods or services purchased by the agency.
Performs other related work and special assignments as required.
