Position Overview
WFMZ is seeking an experienced and passionate Meteorologist to join our award-winning news team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of weather systems, forecasting, and presentation, combined with a flair for storytelling and audience engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology or a related field.
- AMS and/or NWA Seal of Approval preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of on-air meteorology experience (broadcast or digital).
- Proficiency with industry-standard weather systems (e.g., Baron, WSI, or Weather Central).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a strong on-camera presence.
- Ability to remain calm and authoritative during high-pressure weather events.
- Strong social media skills and experience with audience engagement.

- Collaborate with producers, reporters, and digital teams to integrate weather content into newscasts and web stories.
