Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer will work closely with both the Quality and Process / Manufacture teams. The scope will support Aerospace and Defense, build to print and other related manufacturing jobs in Macom’s Nashua N.H. facility.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Quality Engineer will partner directly with our Manager, Quality Control engineer on site in our Nashua, NH facility.
  • Review process and product in line controls and complete gap analyses, execute with focus on proactive continuous improvements.
  • Assist with development of incoming inspection reports and records.
  • Partner with Quality and manufacturing colleagues on end customer issues, yield improvements, process, and product controls, etc.
  • Assist the Operational and manufacturing teams in programming equipment to support the various products and processes completed in Nashua.
  • Have ability to communicate effectively with internal colleagues and externally with vendors, customers, etc. as required.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering discipline. Will consider recent college graduates and individuals with up to 5 years of experience, preferably in an assembly / chip and wire Operation. Also, will consider upcoming college graduates with internship in microelectronics assembly. Statistical / Operational Excellence training desired (Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Strong background in system programming, college courses in computer programming a plus.
  • College course in math and statistics is preferred.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and or microelectronics is a plus (knowledge of soldering, wire bonding, seam welding and other related manufacturing processes) along with capability of following direction as far as following manufacturing procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-practiced organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment -partnering with the Operations team will require a “team oriented” approach.
  • MS Office experience (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Project).
  • Statistical software experience (JMP, Minitab, etc.) a preferred requirement.
  • Due to ITAR regulations, candidate must be a US permanent resident or US citizen.
  • Position resides in Nashua, N.H. No travel to other MACOM or customer sites anticipated.
