Director of Marketing

Position Summary
The Director of Marketing plans, sets directions, and coordinates marketing efforts for the Norman and Shawnee Casinos, developing and maintaining strategies for external and internal communications. This position manages the Players Club department, creates strategic messages, maintains brand identity, and works hours to meet the needs of casino guests.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Develops and implements overall strategic communications, both internal and external.
- Plans, sets, and directs casinos marketing of programs and offerings.
- Manages and directs the Players Club department.
- Oversees and directs marketing efforts.
- Establishes policies, procedures and internal controls for promotions.
- Develops and monitors budgets for the department.
- Implements and reviews social media policies, press materials, and promotional materials.
- Creates and oversees multiple special events.
- Coaches and directs staff on specific job duties.
- Represents organization positively in meetings, etc.
- Develops and coordinates training programs for internal audiences.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Experience with budget preparation and financial report analysis.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and delegate responsibilities.
- Knowledge of computer software, including word processing, database, and graphic applications.
- Knowledge of marketing techniques.
- Knowledge of Thunderbird Casino programs and events.
- General management principles and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to train and supervise employees.
- Knowledge of Thunderbird Casino policies and procedures.
- Skill in preparing marketing materials.
- Skill in coordinating and managing promotional programs and events.
- Proficiency in public speaking and making presentations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct supervisory responsibilities for Marketing and Players Club employees.
Physical Demands
- Required to walk, sit and stand for periods of time.
- Ability to push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and move intermittently throughout the day.
Work Environment
- Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
- Exposure to smoke and secondhand smoke.
- Noise level can be minimal to intense.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven leadership experience within a marketing department.
- Quick learner, self-leader with initiative, flexible in a changing environment.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to maintain effective relationships.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain a gaming license.
