As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks an Administrative Assistant and Dispatcher to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by providing direct customer service and developing, tweaking and coordinating (in partnership with the Chief of Police), consistent systems and practices focused on excellent service, hospitality, and efficiency.
The Administrative Assistant/Dispatcher is a self-starter with exceptional organizational and relational skills. This role requires ability to represent Marian University in a positive and professional way to diverse populations. Additionally, this person will collaborate with professionals in various divisions across campus to ensure timely and professional service. They will review dispatch log, reports, and e-mails, and assists the Chief of Police in administrative follow up as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
- Responsible for maintaining two-way radio communications with the campus police officers, coordination of emergency assistance off-campus, monitoring of security and maintenance alarms and cameras on campus, and administrative and clerical duties.
- Collaborate with professionals in various divisions across campus to ensure timely and professional service.
- Review dispatch log, reports, and e-mails, and assists the Chief of Police in administrative follow up as needed.
- Designs and implements trainings and policy review experiences for dispatch team.
- Maintains digital and hard copy manual for dispatchers, reviews and updates quarterly.
- Participates in MUPD training as needed.
- Collaborates with RCL and CCS staff regarding emergency protocols and dispatch roles.
- Assists in report preparation and data collection/tracking.
- Communicates with Operations team and follows up on maintenance concerns reported through MUPD.
- Participates in Building Coordinates trainings.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by Chief Richardson.

- Must have an Associate Degree.
- As well as a higher education experience.
- Preferences will be given to those with a Bachelor's Degree.
