ABOUT THE JOB - St. Petersburg
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and developing strategic relationships for HVAC manufacturing and service solutions within industrial and commercial markets. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and positioning the company's HVAC products and services as the preferred solution for customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, a deep understanding of industrial and commercial markets, and a proven track record in sales and business development.
The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to sell maintenance contracts as well as projects to industrial and commercial businesses within the vertical markets that we service. Primarily in the field visiting clients, attending industry events, and conducting site evaluations. Occasional office work for planning, reporting, and collaboration with internal teams.
While in the Business Development Manager role, you may also be asked to help manage existing contracts where additional sales opportunities exist. You may also be working alongside other salespeople where team building and collaboration are strongly encouraged, for the betterment of the individuals and the business as a whole.
Your compensation in this position will be paid biweekly plus a first-year guaranteed commission rate. In year two, your commission is not guaranteed.
Commission Structure:
- Commission on Projects | 4%
- Tiered Commission on Service Contracts | Ranging from 4-10%

You will be provided with a company credit card, a laptop computer, company phone, as well as a company vehicle and gas card. Relocation allowance authorized.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
Requirements
- 5+ years in B2B sales, preferably in the HVAC, mechanical engineering, or industrial sectors.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not always required with relevant experience).
- Maybe required to move items up to 80+ pounds using proper lifting techniques
- Must be able to safely work from a ladder, scaffolding, man-lift, and other equipment
- Maybe required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods of time
- Maybe exposed to fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, and moderate-to-loud noise levels
- Must wear required and appropriate PPE and clothing as necessary
- Must show up to work promptly and on time as scheduled by your supervisor (schedule subject to change as needed)
- Drive safe while at work and care for the company’s vehicles
Other Terms of Employment:
- 90-day review will be performed to review progress and goals
- Your yearly performance evaluation will be in January. This annual evaluation may or may not accompany a pay increase depending on your work performance.
