This position collaborates and works in a newly established laboratory that focuses on brain injury related to hydrocephalus and cerebral palsy and seeks to understand the interaction of brain fluids on neuronal function. The PI is a neurosurgeon-scientist and the lab website is http//sadeghlab.org.
The pay range for this position is $33.29-$49.94/hourly. Compensation is determined based on relevent experience and equity.

- In collaboration with the PI, design hypotheses and experiments to answer questions at a physiological, cellular, and molecular level concerning the fluid-producing tissue in the brain, the choroid plexus.
- Assist in the development of experimental protocols and techniques related to gene therapy to target the choroid plexus.
- Develop methodologies for neuronal cell dissociation and tissue culture.
- Assist in program development of a laboratory that will focus on the neuroscience of brain fluids
- Assist in setting up collaborations within the University and other institutions.
- Assist with the education and supervision of laboratory personnel.
- Assist with the management of day-to-day running of the laboratory, including maintaining a biobank of patient-derived specimens.
- Assist in hiring appropriate personnel as directed.
- Provide supervision to SRAs, who will be primarily responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies.
- Develop skills to obtain third-party funding for research initiatives (i.e. NIH).
- Assist with data management and development of data for presentation and publication.
- Assist all users in image core and histological core, including training (both hardware and software) and trouble shooting.
Minimum
- Doctorate Degree in a related field
- 1+ years experience in a hospital setting
- PhD in neurobiology
