Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- General Responsibilities:
- Report any unsafe working conditions immediately to your supervisor.
- Clock in and out daily.
- Follow directions from the Dispatcher and Site Foreman when on job sites.
- Maintain a clean and valid CDL Driver's License and a current Mass DOT card.
- Adhere to St. Croix Construction's safety and operational policies, including completing a 10-hour OSHA Certification.
- Specific Duties:
- Deliveries: Load, unload, and assist with materials on trucks and trailers. Ensure delivery tickets are accurate and obtain Foreman's signature upon delivery.
- Job Sites: Support job site operations as a laborer when not assigned as a driver.
- Truck and Trailer Maintenance: Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, prepare inspection reports, and report maintenance needs to the Dispatcher. Ensure loads are secured properly with chains, straps, and banding. Maintain driver logs according to State and Federal regulations, and refuel trucks at the end of each shift.
- Yard Responsibilities: Keep the yard clean and organized, maintaining an accurate inventory of all equipment and materials on job sites and yard locations.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to OSHA and company safety regulations, participate in safety and incident investigations, and report accidents to the Site Foreman immediately.
- Employee Relations:
- Follow directions from the Site Foreman, General Foreman, and Management Team.
- Promote teamwork and resolve conflicts among crew members as necessary.
- License Requirements: Valid CDL Driver's License and Mass DOT card.
- Experience: Previous experience as a truck driver, preferably in a construction or industrial setting.
- Skills: Knowledge of commercial driving regulations, safety protocols, and the ability to secure loads effectively.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting.
- Tools Needed: Hammer, tape measure, hard hat, steel-toe shoes, eye and hearing protection, gloves, and other tools required for the role.
- Must have all necessary tools to perform the scope of work, including a hammer, tape measure, hard hat, steel toe work shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, dust mask, and gloves.
