IT Operations Technician

Position Summary:

The Operations Technician is responsible for implementing and maintaining store technology systems. Provides technical support to store end-users regarding technology systems. Responds to store technical requests, runs diagnostics, isolates problems, and determines and implements solutions. Responsible for updates/upgrades to all in-store technology solutions. This position requires extensive travel to stores with possible overnights.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain store technical operations.
• Test, install, and support store technology equipment and systems.
• Responsible for new store technology setup and installation, such as routers, switches, PCs, printers, and phones.
• Install, maintain, and support point-of-sale systems.
• Pulling cable and terminating cable-ends.
• Provide technical assistance and support related to in-store computer systems, software, and hardware.
• Follow up with end users to ensure all technical issues are resolved.
• Onboard and train new users in relation to in-store technologies.
• Provide end-user support when at the corporate office.
• Travel to stores as needed with little advance notice.
• On-call availability
• Other duties as assigned by the IT Project Manager or CIO.

Education & Experience:

• High School, GED, or Associates degree, or equivalent work experience.

• Experience working in a retail technical environment or related preferred.
• Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
• Microsoft Office Suite
• PC hardware, printers, scanners, computer peripherals, mobile devices (iOS and Android)
• Client PC connectivity Ethernet, TCP/IP, MAC Addressing, and VPN
• Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written to a diverse group of end-users with varying degrees of technical knowledge.
• Ability to work in a constantly changing and dynamic work environment.
• Team player.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and grow.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

This job does not require certification of licenses.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
• Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
• Travel to stores is required.
