Summary: Manage all aspects of capital packaging equipment projects for the entire project life cycle.

- Manage each of the phases of capital equipment packaging projects including definition, engineering, verification, transportation, installation, and closure . Track information and materials flows . Manage project through the entire project life cycle ensuring client and project success.
- Projects are typically orders for packaging systems of moderate to high complexity and sell for $500K - $3.0M
- Keep projects on track by applying PM and technical product knowledge, utilizing your initiative and interpersonal skills, exercising good judgment, tracking details, and following PMO and HUP processes (Project Management Playbook) .
- Primary point of contact with the customer for project communications . Liaise with suppliers, and internal employees involved in the project (e.g., sales, product managers, technical service etc.) . Diplomacy exercised in cultural differences between teams in North America and Europe .
- Review customer machine specifications including any recommended exceptions . Ensure alignment between customer requirements, machine capabilities and equipment ordered .
- Coordinate for the resolution of a range of mechanical, electrical, controls, packaging and/or safety technical questions that may arise during project execution and testing . Seek the assistance of subject matter experts when appropriate .
- Lead project kick-off and engineering review meetings with vendors and customers .
- Develop project plans, workflows, timelines, critical paths and determine potential risks.
- Manage procurement of equipment and any changes throughout the project life cycle.
- Work with management to ensure sufficient resources are estimated and allocated to each project.
- Coordinate with team members for timely completion of assigned tasks/responsibilities.
- Ensure quality (HUP and customer specs are met), on-time delivery and expenses are on-budget .
- Define, coordinate for and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), which may be virtual or at our vendors in Europe.
- Track shipment and coordinate to ensure successful installation and start-up.
- When needed, visit customer sites to coordinate during installation, witness Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and resolve issues.
- Transition the project to Technical Support.
- Contribute actively to project management process development.
- Stay current on new equipment technologies for ULMA and Mondini lines and travel to Spain and Italy respectively for additional training and equipment familiarization .
- Maintain confidentiality of critical or competitive information.

- Ability to multi-task proficiently to be able to manage multiple projects across at least two product lines.
- Owns every aspect of the relationship with the client’s projects . Satisfies customers . Sets the stage for repeat business.
- Anticipates and resolves issues . Able to turn around his/her projects when faced with adverse situations.
- Experienced in or willing to learn techniques for managing project scope, schedule, resources, quality, budget and costs.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, science, management or equivalent experience.
- Three to five years of project management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience .
- Demonstrated success in managing projects including scope / quality, timelines, budgets, costs, and resources .
- Prior experience working with packaging mach inery/ capital equipment / complex electromechanical systems in a food processing or medical device environment is highly desired . Experience working with European based companies is preferred .
