La Clinica de La Raza

Date: 3 days ago
City: Oakland, CA
Contract type: Full time

Who we are: La Clínica de La Raza is a community-based health center committed to providing culturally appropriate, high-quality, and accessible health care to the diverse communities of the San Francisco Bay Area. We have spent over 40 years advocating for and creating a health home for the many that have been denied access to care. As healthcare activists, we are dedicated to ensuring individuals who do not have health coverage receive the same level of quality healthcare as those who do. From our inception as a community health center in 1971, we understood that healing our communities requires addressing economic and social factors affecting health. This often involves providing services in various settings to link individuals to our health center for preventive and primary care. Over 90,000 individuals come to La Clínica because it is a welcoming place that addresses the whole person, coordinating and connecting them to a broad network of services to improve and maintain their health and well-being. While we are known for our activism and spirit of social justice, we have also evolved into a sophisticated provider of primary health care services with 35 sites across Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano counties.

Be a wellness ambassador: In these challenging times, it is crucial for those who can use their voice to educate and activate others to step forward. La Clínica was founded by activists who recognized the need for high-quality, culturally appropriate healthcare for Latinos in the Fruitvale area. As a Health Educator at La Clínica, you will build upon our legacy, serving an increasingly diverse population and working alongside dedicated community educators. If you are passionate about transforming communities into healthy, empowered spaces, La Clínica is the place for you. We seek Health Educators who understand the power of their voice, enjoy teaching and sharing information, and are committed to wellness. While the work is demanding, the sense of teamwork and our dedication to high-quality services will inspire you to do remarkable work.
