Accounting Specialist

MGT is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to fill a temporary assignment for Lake County, IL. The selected candidate will be an employee of MGT for a minimum of three months, with services contracted to Lake County. This position may be temp-to-hire for the right candidate.
General Description
The general function of the position within the organization is to assist in the administrative function of the Lake County Finance Department. The position is responsible for performing work of moderate difficulty. The position involves providing support for general and specialized clerical and/or technical personnel and is under moderate supervision.
Essential Functions
• Process invoices, check payments, reimbursements, and mileage vouchers.
• Work on special projects not limited to reviewing data on spreadsheets and inputting data.
• Collect and process office mail and other documents.
• Assist with some general bookkeeping, experience with Workday ERP desired.
• Assist with data requests and records management.
• Performs coordinating work involving guidelines and rules with constant problem-solving; requires continuous, close attention for accurate results.
• All other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required
• High school diploma or GED equivalent. Training in general business and administrative office procedures.
• Requires the ability to: read, analyze, and interpret documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports and routine business correspondence.
• Preferred office experience with records and operation of the office; procedures and equipment; spelling, punctuation and grammar; PC operations and software (Word processing and spreadsheet) are required.
Supplemental Information
Physical Requirements:
Requires light to medium work involving standing or walking some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis, and moderate dexterity in operating office equipment, including a keyboard and copier.
