Purpose of Position
Under the supervision of the Credit Manager, review, process and evaluate existing and new customer files. Provide all clerical and administrative assistance to the Credit Analyst. Assist in making credit decisions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process credit applications and strong analytical ability to evaluate information from trade references, suppliers, Secretary of State, financial institutions, profit & loss statements, tax returns, Credit Bureau and Dunn & Bradstreet or equivalent reporting for credit worthiness.
- Strong communication skills and ability to request/discuss high level personal credit information with customers and/or third parties.
- Solid decision-making skills, ability to evaluate customers credit worthiness using all available tools and insights. Including making sound credit decisions to approve or decline credit type spending on customer accounts.
- Respond to all requests for credit information on existing or past EMS accounts in a timely fashion.
- Reach out to trade partners and share internal customer information to make credit decisions and in turn provide the same when required.
- Provide backup to Credit Analyst doing credit evaluations, updating credit files, obtaining trade references, and evaluating current/future customers for credit worthiness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced semi-autonomous environment and self-starter.
- Any other administrative duties needed in the Credit Department.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills, writing and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
- Good organizational skills and prioritization skills, self-starter.
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and adaptability to a fast-paced work environment.
