The successful candidate will be expected to manage diverse projects, play a key role in the management and performance of in vivo studies with focus on oncology and immunooncology, supervise scientific and technical staff, and serve as a scientific resource to other company scientists. Communication with clients and the sales team in the role of a subject matter expert to help plan projects and convey and discuss project data is necessary. Writes reports at the conclusion of projects for clients. He/she will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly experienced, and client-focused organization. Should be interested in a client facing role. Effective written and oral communication skills are required as is the ability to analyze data and present results. Experimental troubleshooting, accurate record keeping and an understanding and respect for scientific method are also important, Project management duties are important when it comes to keeping multiple projects organized and compliant to animal use committee and regulatory agencies. Continuing education by attending training sessions or conferences is encouraged.

Essential Functions

Executing established oncology models and developing new models. Specialized in in vivo oncology related techniques.

Running gene, protein, or immune assays. Proficient in RNA/DNA, PCR, western blots, tissue culture, and other cell-based assays are plus. Flow cytometry experience is highly desirable. Development and optimization of new assays.

Preparation of dosing compounds, administration of dosing compounds. Various tissue sampling including blood and other tissues. Tumor measurement, and animal imaging. Development of new animal pharmacology models.

Experience in dosing of animals, supervises technical staff conducting in vitro and in vivo work.

Plan and schedule multiple projects and manage laboratory personnel for in vitro and in vivo work. Keeps track of data produced from experiments, relates data to clients, troubleshoots experiments as needed, communicates to clients, writes formal and summary reports

Should be open to working in a cross functional role and learning new skills

Helps provide information to sales and clients in the role of a subject matter expert when planning projects

Use of Excel, Prism, or other software to analyze produced data.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD, or equivalent experience in industry
  • Experience in rodent in vivo pharmacology or in cell biology and FACS analysis. Experience supervising staff.

Initial term of assignment will be temporary with potential conversion
