Thea Pharma Inc. is the newly established US commercial organization of French-based pharmaceutical company, Laboratoires Théa. Théa Pharma markets a suite of leading eye-care drugs that have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), including Zioptan, Cosopt, Cosopt PF, Azasite, Akten, and Betimol, as well as AcellFX Acellular Amniotic Membrane and the portfolio of iVIZIA dry-eye drops and eyelid hygiene products. SUMMARY:

The Territory Manager is responsible for managing a territory of key accounts and will be accountable for the sales productivity of the territory. They must possess a comprehensive understanding of selling to medical professionals, the pharmaceutical supply chain, and perform effective sales strategies to increase product sales while achieving corporate objectives. This role includes achieving sales plans, maintaining ophthalmic market and product knowledge, and performing account coverage responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Achieve sales and unit volume forecasts for all portfolio products
  • Manage budgets and expenses for the territory
  • Report weekly goals and results to the Regional Sales Director
  • Manage key physician and account relationships within their territories
  • Manage detailed customer records and reporting within CRM system
  • Communicate with other team members
  • Report on activities and changes in the marketplace
  • Represent Théa ethically and professionally

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous field sales experience in a pharmaceutical and/or ophthalmic company, preferred. Business to business sales is also acceptable.
  • Demonstrated track record of strong sales performance
  • Persuasion skills, business acumen, organizational and analytical skills are required
  • Interested Ophthalmic Technologists and Assistants are encouraged to inquire about this role
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Valid Driver’s License, required
  • Full-time access to a reliable, insured, and well-maintained vehicle, required. This role is provided a car allowance, not a vehicle.

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:

As a field sales person, it is expected that you will travel within your territory 90% of your time. Territory coverage may require long drives, short flights, and/or overnight stays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity enough to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare, and communicate appropriately. Additional physical and mental requirements include:

  • Ability to hear accurately the spoken word with moderate office noise
  • Ability to apply deductive reasoning and understand complicated issues
  • Ability to receive instructions and follow work rules and company policies
  • Ability to follow safety and security practices
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively deal with office stress
  • Ability to accurately communicate ideas, facts, and technical information
  • Maintain confidentiality of certain information
