Job purpose
This position takes the lead in recommending and establishing departmental goals and objectives. Also, makes a commitment to assist others in learning new skills and processes. Encourages others to assume responsibilities in the normal course of their daily work and helps others develop their own level of commitment.
Goals and responsibilities
- Thorough working knowledge of all current OSHA and Safety Standards.
- Fully analyzes all required blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders and sketches to troubleshoot, repair and install desired product or parts. Can detect errors and correct through proper departmental channels.
- Professionally trains and leads other employees in proper work techniques.
- Checks all mechanical components prior to installation to prevent damage.
- Accurately estimates hours and materials for scheduled jobs.
- Working knowledge of AMMS and the PM program
- Basic knowledge of parts purchasing through the AMMS system
- Ability to repair/learn to repair all equipment types including, but not limited to:
- Pouch forming and filling machines, thermoformers, ink jet and other printers, case erectors, box sealers, tape machines, balers, strappers, banders, stretch wrappers, palletizers, vacuum pumps, air compressors, automated conveyor systems, multi head weigh scales, cartoners, checkweighers, x-ray inspection systems.
- Experience with automated systems including, but not limited to Allen Bradley PLC systems, OMRON, FANUC robotic systems, Lantech palletizing systems, etc.
- Using PLC programs/ladder logic as a troubleshooting tool. Basic programming experience a plus.
- Ability to install and build new electrical systems that are up to industry standards as well as code. This includes panels/equipment installs.
- Ability to work with and troubleshoot electrical systems both high voltage and low voltage on all equipment as well as plant distribution.
Qualifications
- Maintenance Tech degree and/or
- 5+ years’ experience in the maintenance industry.
- Working knowledge of Electrical AC/DC with an understanding of PLC Logic.
- General understanding of all facility operations
- Working knowledge of a preventative maintenance program.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand for extended periods of time as well as walk frequently. Bending and squatting may also be required. The associate is frequently required to use arms to reach out and use hands to grasp objects and/or controls. The associate must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
