Your Impact:

The Physical Therapy Assistant has the primary responsibility to administer physical therapy treatments to residents in accordance with the Physical Therapy treatment plan and the Physician’s prescription. Records resident’s progress and discusses with the physical therapist on a regular basis. Participates in the modification of treatment plans and assesses outcomes of treatment sessions. All essential job responsibilities will be executed in accordance with Inglis Administrative policies and compliance/ethics guidelines. This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the person assigned to this position. Assists with the management of the resident menus in the diet office. Assuring that special diet menu requests are entered into the nutrition software system. All supplementary feedings requested are delivered to the neighborhoods.

What You'll Do:

  • Demonstrates clinical knowledge by planning and implementing resident treatment programs and evaluating outcomes.
  • Demonstrates competency in navigation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) including all components related to progress notes and plan of care updates.
  • Provides interventions aimed at maximizing independence and safety in areas including but not limited to strength, range of motion, coordination, transfers, bed mobility, wheelchair positioning and mobility, gait, balance, posture, and ADL performance as determined by resident goals.
  • Provides physical agent and manual modalities for management of pain and wound care as indicated.
  • Routinely reviews resident progress towards goals and collaborates with supervising PT to modify treatment plan as indicated in order to maximize outcomes.
  • Assists PT during trials in preparation for wheelchair prescription. Provides input related to adaptive seating and positioning according to posture, skin integrity, and spasticity.
  • Implements interventions aimed at wound prevention/reduction. Participates in interdisciplinary “Wound Team” protocol as assigned.
  • Ensures continuation of therapeutic care plan following discharge from skilled therapy by providing home exercise programs or appropriate restorative programs.
  • Responsible for safety of rehab equipment.

What We're Looking For:

  • An Associates Degree in Physical Therapy from a recognized and accredited institution is required.
  • Current Professional Licensure in the State of Pennsylvania is required.
  • At least one year of clinical experience preferred with outstanding clinical skills and/or exceptional interest in the treatment of individuals with neurologic conditions.
  • CPR certification required.

Pay Rate for this Role: $65,000-$68,000/Annually
