Strategy And Culture
- Effectively communicate La Clinica’s mission and values to staff and patients.
- Serve as the senior ranking executive in the absence of the Chief Executive Officer.
- Provide insight to the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and members of the senior leadership team to identify strategic priorities of the organization.
- Lead the execution of strategies set by the CEO and Board of Directors through engagement of key change agents, carefully examined operational plans, and performance accountability structures.
- Use data to identify areas of significant operational risk and opportunities, and prioritize areas of focus for improvement in a clearly articulated Operations Improvement Plan each year, including but not limited to the following:
- Growth in services, sites, and patient health outcomes
- Standard work in all service areas of operational performance
- Timely access to care and patient centered practices to optimize clinic flow
- Workforce development, including recruitment and retention action plans
- Financial performance, including the link between operational performance and value-based payment contracts
- Communication systems that promote timely internal messaging and external promotion
- Integration of services across disciplines and across various service locations
- Leadership development and support
- Drive operating capabilities to surpass patient satisfaction expectations and patient retention.
- Collaborate with others to assess and implement new technologies that improve operational efficiencies and accountabilities.
- Support the development of budgets and financial targets that align with the operational and strategic goals of the organization.
- Hold financial accountability for performance by controlling payroll and other operational costs, reduce redundancies and waste in systems, and monitor and implement tactical initiatives to improve revenue.
- Work with the human resources department to develop and implement staffing programs to attract the best applicants and improve employee retention.
- Work with the communications department to ensure internal operational messages and methods of communication meets the employees needs for clear direction, and access to additional resources and information.
- Employ various strategies to coach employees to optimize their capabilities, wellbeing, conflict resolution, accountable communication, behavioral standards, and overall excellence in performance.
- Design criteria and timing for the actionable use of data and reports to communicate outliers and trends in operational performance effectiveness.
- Ensure the development, implementation and consistent application of policies and procedures that support La Clinica’s financial and operating goals, and organizational culture.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, including regulations governing HIPPA and safety regulations.
- Monitor and ensure appropriate standards of patient centered care and professionalism.
- Serve as the Privacy Officer and ensure systems and structures are in place to support all activities related to HIPAA (i.e. business associate agreements, notice of privacy practice, policy, procedure, and workflows), including the delegation of roles and compliance responsibilities to designated personnel.
- Maintain the confidentiality and privacy of patients, staff, and the organization.
- Thorough knowledge of the health care business environment.
- Knowledge of clinic operations issues, to include medical records and patient flow.
- Knowledge of Healthcare Facilities Management principles.
- Knowledge of Healthcare Risk Management principles.
- Knowledge of Patient Centered Primary Care Standards
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and organizational skills.
- Essential to have ability to understand verbal information/instruction to exchange verbal information with others and ability to present information/instruction verbally.
- Ability to supervise multiple functions and activities, delegating authority and responsibility as appropriate.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people, including employees, patients, public officials, and the general public.
- Ability to read and understand written materials and ability to compose information and instruction in written form.
- Essential to be able to reason mathematically and to have analytical and problem-solving skills.
Required:
- Minimum: MBA, MPA, MHA, or other relevant degree.
- At least five years’ experience in a senior healthcare management position.
- A combination of at least four years of college at an accredited school and seven years of healthcare experience may be substituted for minimum educational requirements.
- Master’s Degree in public health, health administration, public administration, business, or related field.
