The School Transport Nurse will be responsible for providing medical care and assistance to students during transportation to and from school in Waterford, MI. This role requires a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or a registered nurse (RN) with experience in pediatric care.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments to students as prescribed
- Monitor and assess the health status of students during transportation
- Provide first aid and emergency medical care when needed
- Communicate with parents, school staff, and healthcare professionals regarding the health needs of students
- Ensure the safe transportation and transfer of students with medical conditions or disabilities
- Current LPN or RN license
- Prior experience in pediatric care is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations
- Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations and protocols
