Job Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the corporate security function in protecting both company assets and employee safety, conducting investigations and identifying risks to Comcast’s brand, assets, and business processes across multiple business channels that could include theft, forgery, fraud, workplace violence incidents, retail business sales misconduct, other personal misconduct, and policy violations, as well as criminal violations. Promotes customer and employee safety by conducting physical security risk and vulnerability assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities and works to mitigate security risks. Responsible for conducting physical security assessments to identify gaps and opportunities to improve security as well as addressing requirements per Comcast policies. Responsible for conducting security awareness trainings to employees across multiple business groups.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop investigative strategies using appropriate techniques, systems, and tools to gather and evaluate evidence.
- Work with management to plan, organize, and conduct investigations related to internal and external security issues, including conducting and directing interviews, searching records, and preparing investigative findings in a comprehensive report that meets legal and regulatory requirements.
- Works with senior investigators and management to conduct investigations related to internal and external security issues, including searching records, securing documents, and preparing reports with minimal supervision.
- Prepares clear, comprehensive, and cohesive investigative reports and statistical data in a timely manner.
- Ensures that all investigations/inquiries are completely objective and brought to a logical conclusion in the best interest of the Company.
- Establishes connections between alleged offenders and other violators by linking evidence uncovered from various sources.
- Collects, documents, stores, and maintains evidence according to the chain of custody guidelines.
- Assists in conducting audits to ensure compliance with applicable security standards.
- Conducts physical security assessments and incident reports; interfaces with business partners to address security risks/findings.
- Communicates and directs effective prevention strategies ensuring appropriate controls are in place at the discretion of management.
- Reviews and analyzes investigative operations and processes to identify security vulnerabilities and weaknesses to recommend strategies for prevention, mitigation, and recovery.
- Testifies under oath in municipal, superior, and federal court and administrative hearings as needed.
- Collaborates with Company stakeholders including Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, and others.
- Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with peers in the industry, law enforcement, and emergency services.
- Communicates investigative information on a need-to-know basis only.
- Presents training programs to employees on numerous security-related topics, including security awareness, robbery and fraud prevention, workplace violence, and sales integrity.
- Enforces security policies and procedures across respective footprint.
- Conducts security awareness training to employees across multiple business groups.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Analytic ability and drive, critical thinking skills, project management experience, and exposure to tactical and operational security.
- Ability to prioritize and oversee multiple tasks, pay close attention to detail, be well organized, and work successfully with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to interact with employees, management at all levels, and law enforcement.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite and ability to learn other software systems.
- Understanding of business, private, and public sector partnerships.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in contemporary investigative theory, techniques, or protocols.
- Knowledgeable with laws affecting investigations and able to make fact-based decisions based on evidence.
- Excellent judgement with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Related Work Experience
- 5-8 years of related experience in investigations or related areas, such as corporate security, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Accounting, Loss Prevention, or Compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from an interviewing and interrogation program.
- Certification or accreditation from a Risk or Security Management Association is a plus.
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI), or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) desired.
- Multi-lingual abilities and experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of security systems and technologies.
Working Conditions
- Position requires sitting and/or standing for extended periods.
- Must be willing to travel and respond to emergency security matters on a 24 x 7 basis.
- Position requires serving periods of “on call” time.
