WB Games Avalanche – Quality Assurance Tester

Warner Bros. Games Inc. seeks a Quality Assurance Functionality Tester for the Avalanche Software

The Quality Assurance (QA) Functionality Tester will be responsible for testing products published by Avalanche Software and executing test cases. The QA Tester will also be required to test for and effectively communicate flaws/bugs/defects to the rest of the production team, enter bugs into the bug database and follow-up on those bugs on the test suite. This position will report directly to a QA Lead.

The successful candidate for this role will be a passionate Gamer and detail-oriented. Understanding with bug databases such as Jira. Understanding of test suites and test cases. Good verbal and English written communication skills. Strong analytical skills, good communication skills. Ability to work in a team. Experience with consoles and/or PC testing.

The Daily

  • Test software for ease of use, reliability, consistency, absence of product defects and compliance
  • Reporting bugs and following up on the test suite if applicable
  • Testing products and executing test cases
  • Organization of workload within the test suite frame and team objectives
  • Declare test cases pass or fail
  • Assignment of bugs within the database with supervisor approval
  • Prioritization of test cases with supervisor approval
  • Ability to carry out end-user test scenarios and execute established test plans

The Essentials

  • Extensive experience playing video games across multiple platforms
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable videogame platform(s) used in testing
  • Solid understanding of relevant game genres
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for finding bugs
  • Attention to detail in order to identify and reproduce bugs
  • Developing analytical skills necessary for isolating bugs and other problems in the game
  • Ability to communicate test findings effectively in written and verbal formats
  • Ability to document and report bugs in a way that is easily understood by others.
  • Understanding software game development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of test tools, testing methodology and processes
  • Basic knowledge of applicable MS Office (Outlook, Work, Excel) and team messaging applications
  • Basic proficiency with task and bug tracking software packages (i.e., JIRA)
  • Basic proficiency with video/image capture and editing software
  • High school equivalent or higher
