Content Marketing Coordinator

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Senior Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for implementing a strategic communications plan, developing marketing and communication content across multiple channels and platforms, and engaging in public relations, special events, and promotions. A self-motivated storyteller, this team member understands the logistical elements of narrative writing, AP writing style, and how to write for—and share information on—different platforms. The person in this position has a firm grasp of digital marketing trends and can bring a strategic and creative vision to the role.
Major Responsibilities:
Content Development and Storytelling:
- Develop and manage engaging content for UWCWC’s website, newsletters, blogs, case studies, and other communication platforms.
- Enhance UWCWC’s storytelling efforts by identifying and capturing personal success stories, with a strong focus on editing, copywriting, and adapting content for various audiences and channels.
- Write compelling press releases, media alerts, talking points, op-eds, and other media-facing content.
- Create visually appealing flyers, promotional materials, and other graphic design assets for programs and initiatives.
Social Media and Website Management:
- Maintain and update UWCWC’s website with fresh, relevant content, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
- Support the planning and execution of social media campaigns across platforms to engage donors, volunteers, and community partners.
- Monitor analytics for both website and social media to optimize content and measure performance.
Design and Creative Projects:
- Collaborate with team members to design marketing collateral, including event invitations, sponsorship packets, and branded materials.
- Oversee the development and procurement of promotional items and office materials.
Media Relations:
- Assist with planning and coordinating media opportunities, including interviews and press events.
- Support crisis communications efforts when necessary.
Event Support:
- Work collaboratively with the Resource Development and Marketing teams to promote and execute organizational events, such as Day of Action, Back-to-School events, and the Live United Golf Tournament.
- Design and produce marketing materials for events, ensuring alignment with UWCWC’s brand standards.
General Duties:
- Utilize the Marketing Tracker to manage tasks and workflows effectively.
- Perform other related duties as required to support the Marketing and Communications team.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Expertise and Education:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field, or a minimum of 3 years combined experience in communications and/or public relations.
- Experience in marketing and public relations, ideally for a non-profit.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) and/or Canva Design Studio.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint).
- Proficiency in email marketing systems (Constant Contact, MailChimp, etc.).
- Proficiency in social media tools for business use – not personal use.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of audiovisual production, event planning and staging, media relations and website management.
- Strong interpersonal skills – including team building and volunteer management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously, strong self-motivation, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- CRM donor database software experience is desirable.
