Job Summary:
Patient Access Services (PAS) is a 24/7 department, all things filter through or start with PAS. It is essential for incumbents to understand the general operations for all departments within the organization. In addition, incumbents operate in an environment with constant interruptions and must re-prioritize or ensure they maintain focus on assigned tasks. The PAS Department is essential in providing administrative and operational support to Bartlett Regional Hospital. Interaction is primarily with patients, medical staff, physician's offices, and ancillary departments. Incumbents should demonstrate the ability to think independently, problem solve, and recommend solutions that positively reflect and impact the hospital. All duties require a high degree of judgment, tact, discretion, and confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
- Education: High School or the equivalent.
- Experience: One (1) year of clerical work that included customer service.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a healthcare-related facility such as a clinic, hospital, or medical office; knowledge of medical terminology; and/or providing human services to diverse populations.
Please note: In lieu of fringe benefits, casual employees receive a $2 an hour casual differential in addition to their hourly base rate of pay. Casual employees will not be scheduled to work a full-time schedule for more than four (4) consecutive months or more than 780 hours annually. Casual employees must work a minimum of one (1) shift within a 90-day period to maintain status and employment.
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
