Position Summary:
To ensure that all food items received meet the approved criteria established by the hotel Food and Beverage/Purchasing Departments. Conducts a thorough, but prompt, inspection of every delivery to ascertain proper specification factors to determine acceptability.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Check shipment by comparing it with Daily Order Sheet and invoice to ensure that what we are receiving is what was ordered (quantity, price, quality state, size, count, weight tolerance and acceptable expiration date). Fill and deliver food requisitions for all outlets.
- Assists with inventory documentaries along with the Purchasing Manager as necessary.
- Assists in filling requisitions and sanitation maintenance daily.
- Assist in conducting End-Of-Month Physical Inventory with the Purchasing Manager.
- Deliver and complete requisitions to all outlets including Off The Record, Lafayette, IRD and Banquets based on their par levels.
- Verify, receive and rotate all orders using proper HACCAP procedures (work with vendors & managers to ensure this).
- Check all goods for quantity & quality. Anything that is incorrect, notify deliverer & Purchasing Manager to ensure proper credit.
- Cleanliness of following areas: Beer cooler, Walk-in Coolers, Freezer, dry storage, receiving area. Keep clear of all boxes; take all trash from these areas to the dumpster. Break down all boxes for disposal.
- Delivery of F&B items to each guest floor as your Purchasing Manager dictates.
- Perform any reasonable duties as required and directed by your supervisor/manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree preferred.
Language Skills: Must be able to understand, speak, read and write Basic English. Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions. Be able to effectively present information to customers, clients and other employees within the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Must be able to apply common sense to carry out simple written or verbal instructions. Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
Physical demands: To complete the duties of the job, the employee will be required to reach with hands and arms and often stop, kneel, crouch or crawl. There will be frequent walking and standing involved. The person will be required to lift or move weights ranging from 10 – 50 pounds.
