The Automation Engineer Intern is responsible assisting in the execution of new and retrofitted industrial automation and robotic projects for New Millennium. This position will assist in designing, developing, implementing, and following up with a variety of automation projects throughout the platform. The person who fills this position will collaborate with plant personnel, NMBS engineering, suppliers, and integrators.

The person who fills this position will collaborate with plant personnel, NMBS engineering, suppliers, and integrators.
- Utilize engineering principles to assist in the performance of engineering duties
- Assist in the development of concepts for the automation of manufacturing processes
- Assist other engineers in on-going projects
- Develop trials based on research and needs
- Utilize various types of equipment for process analysis
- Candidates should be enrolled in a Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering Bachelor’s degree program
- Knowledge of CAD (Solidworks and AutoCAD)
- Mechanically inclined, strong problem-solving skills, hands-on individual
- Proficient computer skills in Excel/Word
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Works well in team environment
- Experience with Allen-Bradley and Fanuc systems
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and ergonomic principles
- Familiar with 6-Axis robot programming
- Familiar with machine vision principles
