Your role

Reporting to the Industrial Engineering Supervisor,

JOB SUMMARY: The Industrial Engineering Technician is responsible for providing hands-on technical support to operations, engineering, maintenance, and for troubleshooting of equipment and systems. This position involves performing manual and technical tasks to ensure smooth operations and operational support across various operational and engineering functions. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of maintenance work, troubleshooting actions, and equipment performance. Documenting process changes, improvements, and system modifications for future reference and compliance. Monitor day-to-day operations and assist in improving workflows, optimizing system performance, and reducing inefficiencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations Support

  • Minimize post-implementation mechanical engineering hours for each job by focusing on continuous improvement and providing on-floor support.
  • Propose and assist with implementation processes that improve manufacturing and packaging to deliver quality outputs.
  • Determine and help ensure necessary documentation is in place, maintained and organized.
  • Develop and implement process improvements and technological upgrades.
  • Develop and implement Visual and Production documentation standards in cooperation with management and user personnel.
  • Familiarize self with key equipment and determine good practices of use.
  • Train staff in new processes and provide instructions and manuals.
  • Provide information/direction to manufacturing, packaging and Production Maintenance departments as required.

Represent Operations on Site Projects/Continuous Improvement Activities

  • Actively participate in the definition of needs in URS for both functional and technical specifications.
  • Represent plant operations during industrialization of new equipment/Line.
  • Define and lead action plan as necessary to get the equipment to match the expectations of the URS once installed/qualified.
  • Identify users and access levels required based on department and specific needs.
  • Identify areas for improvement by collecting data or with input from the Operations Department.

Team That Consistently Delivers

  • Assist in ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Assist supervision and direction to staff and coordinates workflow within the work unit based on new equipment/process improvements.
  • Provide technical assistance and positively answer users questions and requests for support in resolving problems.
  • Ensure self and Operations team keep up to date on technical knowledge and developments that impact performance.
  • Implement both short- and long-term corrective actions and process improvements to ensure continued compliance.
  • Ensure stakeholders are appropriately trained on the process and any process changes.

Your profile

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2-5 years technical “hands on” experience with equipment, machinery, and tools with knowledge of engineering principles in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Works effectively on a team or individually.
  • Proficient with MS Work, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Certification in specific technical areas is not required but beneficial.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must demonstrate visual acuity, color recognition, finger dexterity.
  • Work responsibilities involve chemical and biological agents with assigned hazards.
  • Sitting approximately 50% of day and standing approximately 50% of day.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.
  • Normal office and warehouse environment that may require personal protective equipment.

Compensation range

28.85 - 33.65 USD

  • The referenced compensation range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
