Emergency Medical Services Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary
The City of Sioux Falls Health Department is accepting applications for an Emergency Medical Services Quality Assurance Specialist. This position is responsible for reviewing and assessing the quality and compliance of EMS operations through a supportive role.
Duties include providing research support on current best practices of medical and administrative protocols; assisting with data entry for ongoing Quality Improvement projects; pulling data from patient care reports and entering them into CARES registry; looking into care outcomes and selecting cases for review; attending and reviewing calls; conducting ambulance inspections; maintaining professional knowledge; and performing other duties as assigned.
To be considered for this position it is required to maintain EMS patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
Current EMT, Paramedic, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license in South Dakota. The qualified applicant would be detail-oriented with excellent communication skills and be capable of managing multiple concurrent projects.
