Position Description
The Fixed Income Portfolio Manager will support the Director of Fixed Income in implementing Howe & Rusling’s fixed income strategies. This role includes critical aspects of fixed income asset management, security selection, and trading while maintaining performance-driven results aligned with individual client account guidelines. The portfolio manager will also assist with macroeconomic and credit analysis, trade idea generation, and support diversified portfolio construction. Key responsibilities also include assisting in bond purchase settlements and resolving any settlement issues, while providing ongoing market insights to the fixed income team and firm portfolio managers.
Responsibilities
Strategic Support: Collaborate with the Director of Fixed Income to implement fixed income strategies, focusing on asset management, security selection, and trading.
Macroeconomic Analysis: Conduct in-depth macroeconomic research to generate trade ideas and assist in constructing diversified portfolios.
Bond Settlements: Handle bond purchase settlements, ensuring accuracy and addressing settlement issues promptly.
Trading: Actively participate in fixed income trading activities, ensuring best execution and compliance with client account guidelines.
Market Research: Conduct detailed research on investment-grade taxable and tax-exempt securities, staying informed about market developments.
Education And Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in fixed income asset management; experience with separately managed accounts is a plus
Technical SkillsProficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong analytical skills for evaluating bids, offerings, and trade ideas.
Attributes: Demonstrated work ethic, team-player mentality, and the ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
