Seeking Christ-following individual to serve as Human Resources Manager with Praying Pelican Missions (PPM), an organization committed to building up, encouraging and assisting the local Church in reaching and serving their communities for Christ in over 40 locations throughout the world.  

 

Qualified candidates are local to the Minneapolis - St. Paul Minnesota area and will have a strong understanding of HR best practices and a commitment to serving our diverse employee group with integrity and compassion. 

 

The Human Resources Manager will play a vital role in fostering a positive and productive work environment aligned with Christian principles, overseeing all HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits administration and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization's mission and values.
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing candidates to onboarding new hires.
  • Review and create human resource policies and procedures, applying organization structure and needs, along with regulatory influence
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and position accountabilities to support a positive learning environment for all staff. 
  • Oversee employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent treatment for all.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations in domestic and international environments.
  • Foster a positive work environment rooted in Christian principles.
  • Conduct training programs on HR-related topics.
  • Manage performance reviews and improvement plans.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • HR generalist training and/or equivalent experience is required.
  • Proven experience working with HRIS software.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience required.
  • A strong understanding of HR best practices and employment law.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A demonstrated commitment to Christian values and a desire to work in a faith-based environment.
  • SHRM-CP/SCP or other HR certifications are a plus.


PPM Staff Requirements:

  • You are a devoted Christ follower that believes in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and that the Bible is the inspired, infallible word of God.

Instead of seeing differences as divisive, you see them as a learning opportunity and focus on common ground.
  • You are in alignment and agreement with PPM’s Statement of Faith, which is at the core of who we are and what we stand for. It is as follows:The Bible is God’s complete and perfect Word and our ultimate authority as followers of Christ. (2 Timothy 3)
  • We are all lost, fallen short of the glory of God, and in need of a Savior. (Romans 3)
  • Jesus came to earth for the purpose of seeking and saving the lost. (Luke 19:10)
  • Jesus died on the cross. Three days later, He rose from the grave, paying the ultimate sacrifice and conquering death for all who believe in Him. (1 Peter 3:18, 1 John 2:2, Romans 5:8, Romans 10:9)
  • As a result of God’s grace alone, through faith in Christ alone, we are saved. (Ephesians 2, John 14)
  • Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit are One. (John 1)
  • Jesus Himself commissioned His followers (the Church) to go into the world and make disciples. (Matthew 28)
