Requirements

Essential Functions

At Miravida Living, the Accounts Receivable/Billing Specialist is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the organization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all billable services are correctly applied to proper accounts.
• Confirm billable rates for accurate claims for all payers.
• Successfully demonstrate an understanding of the billing rules and regulations for Medicare, Medicare Advantage, state specific Medicaid, and other potential payer categories.
• Researches and solves payment discrepancies.
• Adjusts/corrects accounts as needed.
• Prepares reports.
• Bills insurance, private pay, Medicare and Medicaid.
• Enters resident demographics and billing into software.
• Verifies insurance benefits
• Excellent fiscal management.
• Ethical conduct.
• Thoroughness/attention to detail.
• Strong propensity to prioritize and organize to meet deadlines.
• Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibility/Supervision

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Education And Experience

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 5+ years A/R experience.
• 2+ years A/R experience in a skilled nursing (SNF) setting.
• 2+ years’ experience in Medicare insurance billing knowledge.
• PointClickCare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of state regulations.

The job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Expectations

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Travel

Campus wide (within Oshkosh area) travel may be required.
